Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Thursday, January 19, 2017

This week, I'm lucky enough to be in Munich, representing Yogacara Global at the Annual Yoga World Exhibition.

Whenever I'm traveling, finding time to practice can be tricky. The unfamiliar surroundings and different time zones all have an effect. However, I always try to get on my mat, even if it's only for 10 minutes.

It got me thinking. Yoga, the practice of the self, is just like any other relationship in life. It's true what they say - that absence makes the heart grow fonder. So whether it's our home, or our yoga practice that we miss - life doesn't feel quite right without it. Funnily enough, I always find that traveling helps to re-kindle that fire.

With this in mind, tomorrow morning, I'll be practicing in my hotel room with a full and grateful heart. Because, wherever we are in the world, we can always find yoga.
